ওয়েস্ট লন্ডনে প্রায় ২ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড ব্যয়ে নির্মিত আইজলওর্থ দ্বীন সেন্টারের শুভ সূচনা

দীর্ঘ প্রতিক্ষার পর অত্যন্ত আনন্দঘন পরিবেশে স্থানীয় কমিউনিটির ব্যাপক সাড়ায় পুরুষ মহিলা শিশু কিশোর মুসলিম মুসল্লী ও নানা ধর্ম সংস্কৃতির মানুষ, এমপি কাউন্সিলর, ইমাম ও নানা সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধিদের মিলন মেলা ও দুআর মধ্য দিয়ে শুরু হলো আইজলওর্থ দ্বীন সেন্টার আইডিসির আনুষ্ঠানিক যাত্রা।

রোববার ৮ ফেব্রুয়ারী সকাল থেকে রাত পর্যন্ত এলাকার অধিবাসী, স্থানীয় মুসুল্লিরা ওপেনিং সিরিমনিতে স্বপরিবারে অংশগ্রহণ করে পুরো সেন্টারের ঘুরে ঘুরে দেখেন ও নানা আয়োজন মুগ্ধ হয়ে উপভোগ করেন। আইডিসি চেয়ারম্যান ও ইমাম শাইখ আবু সায়্যীদ আনসারীর স্বাগত বক্তব্য ও ট্রাস্টি সিরাজুল ইসলামের যৌথ প্রানবন্ত উপস্থাপনায় এবং তেলাওয়াতের মাধ্যমে সূচিত অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ও বক্তব্য রাখেন ব্রেন্টফোর্ড আইজলওয়ার্থ এর পার্লামেন্ট মেম্বার রুথ কাডবারি এমপি, ড. মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল বারী, কাউন্সিলর সু স্যামসন, কাউন্সিলর সামিয়া চৌধুরী, হাউন্সলো মসজিদের চেয়ারম্যান শফিকুর রহমান, শাইখ সিকান্দার পাঠান, আইডিসি মুতাওয়াল্লি নুরুল হক, হাউন্সলো মুসলিম সেন্টার কর্মকর্তা সুহেল মিয়া, ইমাম ইব্রাহিম ইউসুফ, ইমাম আতাহার মাহমুদ, ড. জিয়া নাঈমী, বিশিষ্ট কমিউনিটি নেতা আতিকুর রহমান খান, আব্দুল মনাফ, এখলাসুর রহমান, লন্ডন-বাংলা প্রেসক্লাবের নবনির্বাচিত প্রেসিডেন্ট ব্যারিস্টার তারেক চৌধুরী ও সিনিয়র ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট তাইসির মাহমুদ, হালাল ফুড অথরিটির স্কলার ড. আব্দুল ওয়াহাব, ট্রাস্টি আহমেদ লতিফ ও চিফ এক্সভিকিউটিভ ড. আমির মাসুম, সলিসিটর খালিদুর রহমান, শিক্ষাবিদ আমজাদ আলী, হিউস্টন মসজিদের চেয়ার আলহাজ্ব মুবাসশির আলী, সিআইপি আব্দুল করিম, ট্রাস্টি ও ট্রেজারার আকবর হোসেন, মোহাম্মদ আলী, শিক্ষিকা তানজিনা সাত্তার ও বিশিষ্ট লেখক রহিমা বেগম প্রমুখ।

বক্তারা এই সেন্টারের মহৎ কাজে জড়িত কর্মকর্তা ও সম্পৃক্ত সকলকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন জানান এবং আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করে বলেন এই সেন্টারের মাধ্যমে এলাকার ধর্ম বর্ন নির্বিশেষে সকলে উপকৃত হবে। তারা বলেন এর মাধ্যমে এলাকাবাসীর দীর্ঘদিনের স্বপ্নের বাস্তবায়ন হলো।

উল্লেখ্য, আইডিসি ২০১৬ সালে আইজলওয়ার্থে দুশো বছরেরও পুরনো জর্জ পাব ক্রয় করে সবার সহযোগিতায় ২০২৫ সালের ডিসেম্বরে বিল্ডিং মেরামতের কাজ সম্পন্ন করে।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে আইডিসির ধারাবাহিক কার্যক্রমের প্রেজেন্টেশন দেন সেক্রেটারী মিজানুর রহমান, এমসি মেম্বার আব্দুল আজিজ ও ট্রাস্টি রব মিয়া টিটু। আগামীতে এই সেন্টারে এলাকাবাসীর কল্যাণে নানামুখী শিক্ষামূলক সামাজিক কর্মসূচি নেয়া হবে।

অনুষ্ঠানে সুন্নাহ ফুড কর্নার (পবিত্র কোরআনে বর্ণিত খাবার) ও রামাদান কিডস চ্যালেঞ্জ ষ্টল অনেকের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করে। বিফ ও চিকেন বিরিয়ানি, সমুসা, স্ন্যাকস, চা কফি চটপটি সহ মুখরোচক খাবার দাবার উপস্থিত অতিথিরা উপভোগ করেন। বাচ্চাদের তিলাওয়াত, নাশিদ ছিলো অন্যতম আকর্ষণ।

এই ওপেনিং অনুষ্ঠান সফল করে তোলার জন্য আইডিসি ম্যানেজমেন্ট সকল দাতা, ভলানটিয়ার ট্রাস্টি, ম্যানেজমেন্ট মেম্বার ও এলাকাবাসীর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা ও ধন্যবাদ জানান। সর্বোপরি তারা মহান আল্লাহরাব্বুল আলামিনের শুকরিয়া আদায় করেন।

After a long wait, the Isleworth Deen Centre (IDC) has officially begun its journey in a joyful and uplifting atmosphere, marked by prayers and an overwhelming response from the local community. Built at a cost of over £2m, the opening ceremony brought together men, women, children, and young people from the Muslim community, alongside people of different faiths and cultures, some of no faith, MP, councillors, imams, journalists, community leaders and representatives of various organisations—creating a vibrant gathering of unity and harmony.

On Sunday, 8 February, from morning until night, local residents attended the opening ceremony with their families. Guests toured the entire centre and enjoyed a wide range of thoughtfully arranged activities.

The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by a welcome address by IDC Chairman and Imam, Shaykh Abu Sayyid Ansarey and a lively joint presentation by Trustee Sirajul Islam.

Among those present and delivering speeches were Ruth Cadbury MP, Member of Parliament for Brentford and Isleworth; renowned academic Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari; Councillor Sue Simpson and Samia Chaudhary; Chairman of Hounslow Mosque Shafiqur Rahman; Shaykh Sikandar Pathan; IDC Mutawalli Nurul Haq; Hounslow Muslim Centre leader Suhel Miah; Imam Ibrahim Yusuf; Imam Atahar Mahmud; prominent caterers leader Atiqur Rahman Khan; prominent businessman Abdul Monaf; Ekhlasur Rahman; President of the London Bangla Press Club Barrister Tarek Chowdhury and Senior Vice President Taysir Mahmud; Halal Food Authority scholar Dr Abdul Wahab; Trustee Ahmed Latif; Chief Executive Dr Amir Masoom; Solicitor Khalidur Rahman; Chairman of Euston Mosque Alhaj Mubasshir Ali; Head Teacher Amjad Ali; Dr Zia Naeemi; CIP Abdul Karim; IDC Trustee and Treasurer Akbar Hossain; Mohammad Ali; teacher Tanzina Sattar; and renowned writer Rahima Begum, among many others.

Speakers extended heartfelt congratulations to all officials, trustees, donors, and volunteers involved in this noble initiative. They expressed optimism that the centre would benefit the entire local community regardless of faith or background, describing it as the realisation of a long-cherished dream of local residents.

It is noteworthy that in 2016, IDC purchased the more than 200-year-old George Pub in Isleworth. With the collective support of the community, renovation and refurbishment work was completed in December 2025.

During the opening ceremony, a presentation on IDC’s ongoing and future activities was delivered by Secretary Mizanur Rahman, MC member Abdul Aziz, and Trustee Rob Miah Titu. Plans were outlined for a wide range of educational, social, and community welfare programmes to be introduced for the benefit of local residents.

The event also featured a Sunnah Food Corner (foods mentioned in the Holy Qur’an) and a Ramadan Kids Challenge stall, both of which attracted significant attention. Guests enjoyed a variety of delicious foods including beef and chicken biryani, samosas, snacks, tea, coffee, and chotpoti. Children’s Qur’an recitations and nasheed performances were among the highlights of the programme.

IDC team expressed sincere gratitude to all donors, volunteers, management members, and local residents who helped make the opening event a success. Above all, they offered thanks and gratitude to Almighty Allah, the Lord of all worlds.
